What a difference: 50 degrees colder now than March 2012

Wednesday, March 20, 2013

The next few days will be around 50 degrees colder than the same days just one year ago, the National Weather Service predicts.

High temperatures were in the lower 80s for the start of spring 2012 as Putnam County residents were even mowing grass by this time.

For the start of spring 2013, temperatures will struggle to hit 32 degrees on Wednesday.

The normal high temperature for this period is around 54 degrees.

The differences as predicted are:

March 19 -- High of 82 in 2012, only 38 in 2013.

March 20 (first day of spring) -- High of 83 in 2012, only 32 in 2013.

March 21 -- High of 84 in 2012, only 34 in 2013.

March 22 -- High of 81 in 2012, only 39 in 2013.
