Sen. Phil Boots

Indiana State Sen. Phil Boots will be the featured speaker on Monday, April 8 at the April meeting of the Greencastle Defenders of Liberty.

The 6:30 p.m. meeting, which is open to the public, is scheduled for Dixie Chopper Business Center at the Putnam County Airport, 102 Ballard Lane.

A Crawsfordsville resident, Boots has been in the Statehouse since 2006, now representing Senate District 23.

In 2010, Sen. Boots was named Outstanding State Senator by the Indiana Retired Teachers Association and Small Business Champion by the Indiana Chamber of Commence.

During his tenure with the Senate, Sen. Boots has authored and sponsored key pieces of legislation.

At present the Republican lawmaker is championing his bill SB230, the nullification of so-called "Obamacare" health care in Indiana. A number of petitions from Indiana residents have been signed and submitted to the Senate Rules Committee, which has not allowed a vote on the issue.
