Audrey Lois Scotten, 98, of Clayton, passed away early Saturday morning, April 13, 2013 at the Owen Valley Health Campus in Spencer.

Born Oct. 29, 1914 in Crawford County, she was the daughter of Elmer Brubeck and Clora (Suthers) Brubeck. She married Eugene "Red" Scotten and he preceded her.

Audrey was the owner-operator of the Handy Corner Grocery Store in Stilesville for more than 21 years. She was a member of the Good Shepherd Baptist Church in Mooresville, and was also a member of the Eastern Star in Cloverdale for more than 60 years. She enjoyed gardening, shopping and cooking.

Survivors include two sons, Robert Stroud of Indianapolis and Larry Stroud and wife Janet of Stilesville; two grandchildren, Tim Stroud of Indianapolis and Cherie Yarolem and husband Rusty of Stilesville; eight great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; one niece; and one nephew.

Her parents, husband, a grandson Mark Stroud, two brothers and two sisters preceded her in death

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Bousley-Hays Funeral Home, Coatesville. Funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home with Rev. Everettt Bernard officiating.

Burial will follow in the Stilesville Cemetery.
