Mount Zion Baptist Church to host NAACP state president

Monday, April 15, 2013

The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) has been a part of this community for more than 50 years. However, its goal of granting civil rights to all citizens and non-citizens has faded in recent years.

To re-establish the branch, attorney Barbara Bolling, NAACP state president, will speak at Mount Zion Baptist Church at 5 p.m. Saturday, April 20.

Bolling will try to provide a historical and future view of the organization and its goals.

All are welcome, but current members are urged to attend this event.

For information, persons may call Helen Webb at 653-8088.
