Eagles lose tight match to Danville

DANVILLLE -- The South Putnam boys' golf team lost a close dual match at Danville on Tuesday, 204-209.

Sophomore Derek Chestnut led the Eagles with a 44 in the nine hole event. Justin Berry shot a 47, followed by Jimmy Rutter's 54, Austin Query's 64 and Chad Menke's 64.

The event was a prelude to next week's West Central Conference battle at the same course.

The Eagles face North Putnam at Twin Bridges on Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
