Rotary representative Jacqui Ellis (left) and Club President Carol Steele (right) present local high schools students with their awards for the Rotary Speech Contest. Winners were (from left) first-place Joseph Fields, second-place Claudia Monnett and third-place Levi Lewis.

Based on their performance at the Greencastle Rotary Club speech contest, two Putnam County high school students will be representing the club at the Rotary District 6560 speech contest on Saturday at Indiana Wesleyan University in Indianapolis.

Greencastle High School student Joseph Fields won the local contest by discussing Rotary's Four-Way Test and how it can serve as a guide for those facing troubles in their lives.

Cloverdale's Claudia Monnett discussed Rotary's affiliation with the Imagination Library and encouraged the organization to try and reach even more children through the program.

Fields and Monnett will be among students from around central Indiana who will speak Saturday morning in the district contest.

Levi Lewis of Greencastle placed third speaking about the organization's dedication to service. Lewis will serve as an alternate for the district contest.
