Aiding Cancer Center

The ladies of the VFW Women's Auxiliary Post 1550 recently hosted a fundraiser for the Putnam County Cancer Center. The fundraiser included a pulled pork dinner, an auction of homemade desserts and several items donated by local businesses. The women and other volunteers also sold several hundred cancer awareness bracelets. A $2,500 check representing the proceeds of those fundraisers was presented recently to Cancer Center nurse Georgeann Cain by VFW Women's Auxiliary President Melba Thomas. Donating to the ladies auxiliary efforts were Moore's Bar, Blue Door, Final Approach, Tractor Supply, Humphrey's, Pizza King, Old National Bank, PNC, Auto Zone, NAPA, Headley Hardware, CVS, Carquest, York Automotive, Goody's, Monical's Pizza, Almost Home, VFW Men's Auxiliary, VFW Post 1550, Greencastle Police Department and M&K Transport.
