The Greencastle boys' golf team took third place at Terre Haute South's tournament last weekend, but the Tiger Cubs turned it around on their home course on Monday winning 152-162.

Juniors Luke Brotherton and Alec Davis each shot par or better at 34 and 35, respectively.

"(It was) a strong performance from our juniors," GHS coach Steve Paquin said. "Windy Hill was in excellent conditions and our scores showed it."

Tanner Dean also had a strong day for the Tiger Cubs, Paquin said, shooting a five-over 40 at the nine-hole dual meet.

Senior Wataru Otaki (43), freshman Jake Buis (44) and sophomore Carl Basile (44) each had solid efforts.

Justin Baxter (50) and Jonah Stevens (51) rounded out the field GHS.

"This was the best weather condition of the season," Paquin said. "We continue to improve but we need to improve our chipping and putting.

"The short game is the most difficult and most important to get the lowest scores during the round."

Terre Haute South's best-scorer shot a 37.

Greencastle was scheduled for a match Tuesday against Tri-West.
