Area 30 students win big at HOSA contest
Twenty-five students from Area 30 Career Center recently took part in the Health Occupations Students of America State Leadership conference.
Students from Area 30 Health Careers, Nursing and Veterinary Technology classes spent two nights and three days in Indianapolis competing with more than 600 students from other career centers and high schools throughout Indiana.
Competitive event areas included career health display, job seeking skills, medical photography, extemporaneous health poster, extemporaneous speaking, vet tech, nursing assistant and home health aid skills.
Students also competed by taking knowledge tests in nutrition, growth and development, pathophysiology, medical terminology, medical math and pharmacology. The following Area 30 students earned medals and top-10 finishes:
