County Jail

At 6:52 p.m. on Thursday, Holly Rae Gullett, 35, Poland, was booked into the Putnam County Jail for theft.

Sheriff's Department

At 6:20 p.m. on Thursday, Blaine A. Fenwick, 18, Greencastle, was northbound on Round Barn Road in a 1992 Toyota Paseo attempting to turn left into the Nazarene Church when he was struck in the rear by John R. Hasty, 20, Coatesville, in a 1999 Ford F150.

Hasty said the brakes went out and he could not stop. Deputy T.J. Smith checked the truck and found it was leaking brake fluid.

Damage was estimated at $1,001-$2,500.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department has responded to several recent dispatches.

* At 2:05 p.m. on Friday, GFD investigated an alarm at 106 S. Spring St. The problem was caused by cooking. Crews returned to station at 2:15 p.m.

At 9:47 p.m. personnel performed an odor investigation at 609-1/2 E. Walnut St. Residents complained of a natural gas odor, but no problem was found. They cleared the scene at 10:17 p.m.

At 10:05 p.m. firefighters responded to another odor complaint at 804 Cameron Dr. Citizens smelled a fuel odor, but again no problem was located. Crews returned to station at 10:29 p.m.

* At 11:31 p.m. Saturday, GFD assisted Operation Life at 1022 Avenue B, returning to station at 11:44 p.m.

At 11:36 p.m. crews were dispatched to an alarm at 413 S. Locust St, but were disregarded at 11:37 p.m.

* At 1:30 p.m. Sunday, firefighters investigated an alarm at 106 S. Spring St. The problem was caused by cooking. The crew returned to station at 1:36 p.m.
