Tuning Out Cancer

Monday, April 29, 2013
Hundreds showed up to participate in this year's Relay for Life on Saturday, which had the theme of "Tune Out Cancer." It was said that at the start of the event, which took place in the indoor track facility at DePauw, just under $100,000 had been raised. It was expected that the event would raise another $30,000 by the end. Among those kicking off the event were P.T. Wilson, a cancer survivor and Mark McCoy of the DePauw School of Music. One little boy, Bentley Pettit (above, left) got into the spirit by dancing around the track as he showed support of Missy Chadd. The Facilities Management team dressed up as clowns as they walked around the track. The team consisted of Linda Ross (top, from left), Terry Gutherie, Sherri Comer, Vicky Phillips and Martha Knobel. While others walked sisters Nancy Hosapple (bottom, left) and Suzie Stevenson browsed the items in the silent auction.
