Greencastle softball get big wins at North Montgomery

CRAWFORDSVILLE -- The Greencastle varsity softball team beat North Montgomery twice on Saturday, winning game one 12-2 in six innings on then winning game two 8-5.

Courtney Adams threw a complete game for the Tiger Cubs to start the day, allowing just three hits and striking out five.

The Tiger Cubs (5-7) got rolling in the second inning, scoring seven runs.

Kenlee Johnson led GHS at the plate with two hits, four RBI and two runs scored. Hope Scanland had went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI.

Sophomore Delanie Stoltey also had two RBI and a double.

Senior Ellen Gobert had two hits and stole her fifth base of the season as the Tiger Cubs ran all over the base paths.

In all, GHS piled up 10 hits and four stolen bases.

Freshman Madi Fauvergue pitched game two. She had two strikeouts and allowed 0 earned runs in a complete game.

Taylor Stoltey, Makenzi Myers, Thomas and Adams each had hits for the Tiger Cubs. Taylor Stoltey had two RBIs.

The Tiger Cubs return to action on Monday when they travel to Monrovia to take on the Bulldogs.
