The South Putnam School Corporation recently held its second annual South Putnam Alumni Banquet at the Dixie Chopper Business Center.

The banquet, which had approximately 90 alumni and guests, was successful in honoring the classes of 1972 and 1987 along with presenting the next two Hall of Fame honorees Susan Anderson Shorter and Mark Timm. The Education Foundation Scholarship went to Logan Pell while the Wildman Leadership Scholarship went to Ryan Chestnut.

The Foundation was also able to present Teacher Grants to Kelly Newby and Catherine Stockwell.

In honor of the class of 1972, a presentation by Rick Cline and Terri York provided some insight as to why their class was called the bomb squad.

A presentation by Chris Arnold and Kristina Hutcheson Williams honored the class of 1987. Chris provided some interesting thoughts on the state championship football game as he was South Putnam's quarterback.

Hall of Fame presentations were to Timm and Shorter. Timm served FFA all the way from being a chapter officer to National FFA President.
