County Jail

Three people were booked into the Putnam County Jail on Tuesday.

* At 2 p.m. William Dale Woods, 29, Indianapolis, was arrested for probation violation.

* At 6:36 p.m. James Dale Haltom, 77, Cloverdale, was charged with violation of home detention.

* At 11:06 p.m. Steve Eugene Davis, 45, Greencastle, was booked in for operating while intoxicated, possession of methamphetamine, possession of paraphernalia, possession of a syringe and driving with a suspended license.

Sheriff's Department

At 9:22 p.m. on Tuesday, Marcus A. Gray, 23, Lanham, Md., was eastbound on State Road 240 in a 2003 Dodge Intrepid when he hit a deer with the front driver's side.

Damage was estimated at $1,001-$2,500.

City Police

Five recent traffic citations were issued by Greencastle City Police officers.

-- At 10:18 p.m. Tuesday, Andrew King, 24, Fillmore, was stopped by Reserve Officer Jeremiah Jackson at Bloomington and Apple streets for having a false or fictitious registration.

-- At 5:03 a.m. Monday, James E. Grimsley, 27, Brazil, was ticketed by Officer Nick Eastham for 52 mph in a 30-mph zone on Bloomington Street, south of Martinsville Street.

-- At 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Quentin Stout, 47, Trafalgar, was cited on Bloomington Street by Officer Albert Epple for having no license plate on his vehicle.

-- At 5 a.m. Saturday, James B. Spencer, 47, Greenwood, was ticketed by Officer Eastham for 52 mph in a 30-mph zone on Bloomington Street, south of Martinsville Street.

-- At 1:57 a.m. Saturday, Christopher Vornholt, 21, Greencastle, was cited by Officer Eastham for 54 mph in a 30-mph zone on Bloomington Street, south of Martinsville Street.
