Rokita's 'Congress on Your Corner' event locally Friday
U.S. Rep. Todd Rokita will conduct a "Congress on Your Corner" public session this Friday afternoon in Greencastle.
Rokita will address constiuents' questions and concerns from 3-4 p.m. Friday at Jackson's Family Restaurant, 1058 Indianapolis Rd.
Rokita aide Josh Britton indicated "Congress on Your Corner" events give Hoosiers "an opportunity to talk to their congressman about whatever's on their mind," whether they have an issue with a government agency or the federal government at large.
The 43-year-old Rokita has represented Indiana's 4th congressional district (which includes all of Putnam County) since 2011.
A Republican, Rokita previously served as Indiana secretary of sate from 2002 to 2010.
Rokita will also return to Greencastle on Sunday, May 19 as the keynote speaker at the Putnam County Republicans' Lincoln Day Dinner.
That annual GOP event is scheduled for 1 p.m. at the Putnam County Fairgrounds. Tickets for Lincoln Day are $25 per person and can be purchased by calling 301-0873 or 721-6001.
