Spreading mulch around a recently-repaired swingset, a group of employees from North Salem State Bank lend a hand at Hope Haven Horse Farm recently. NSSB employees (from left) Sherri Reagin, Michael Clampitt, Maggie Lange, Chad Remsburg, Megan Ervin and Heath Allen pulled together to get the job done quickly.

North Salem State Bank was recently introduced to Hope Haven Horse Farm, an equine therapy center serving children and adults in Putnam, Hendricks and surrounding counties. As with any farm, Hope Haven needed a lot of help cleaning up after the long winter.

On Tuesday, May 7, a crew of 15 employees of North Salem State Bank spent the day helping the volunteers and employees of Hope Haven.

Projects included painting, installing new signage, mulching, planting flowers, landscaping, moving a mounting block, repairing the playground and building fencing to increase their arena.

Several friends and customers of North Salem State Bank also participated by donating much needed equipment and supplies. Leroy Smith Trucking, located in North Salem delivered a semi-load of mulch which was donated by GreenCycle-McCarty of Danville. Edwards Equipment of Danville provided a skid-steer to help move all of that mulch.

Several flats of flowers were donated by Cox's Plant Farm in Clayton, and Dean's Rent-All in Brownsburg provided a posthole digger to help with the fence building.

Interesting things are happening with Hope Haven Horse Farm, as it has recently partnered with Rose-Hulman to help advance the technologies available in equine therapy.

North Salem State Bank looks forward to working with Hope Haven, and appreciates the opportunity to give back to the community.
