Sunday Mishap

Monday, May 13, 2013

A two-vehicle accident occurred at 7:15 p.m. on Sunday at the intersection of Washington and Spring streets. Investigating officer Sgt. Charles Inman stated that Anthony Sanders, 17, Greencastle, was driving southbound on Spring St. in his 1999 Ford Explorer as Meghan Willoughby, 22, Greencastle, was headed eastbound on Washington St. in her 2005 Pontiac Boneville. As Sanders approached the intersection he reportedly failed to see a stop sign and proceeded through the intersection without stopping, which resulted in Willoughby t-boning Sanders. Both were treated and released at the scene for minor injuries. Damage is estimated between $5,000-$10,000 for both vehicles. Responding to the wreck were Greencastle Police officers Nick Eastam and Matt Huffman along with reserve officer Tim Smiley. Also at the scene were Operation Life, Greencastle Fire Department and DePauw University Police
