James J. Waygood Jr.

James J. Waygood Jr., 84, of Greencastle, formerly of Columbus, Ind., and Pocono Pines, Pa., passed into the presence of his Savior on Wednesday, May 15, 2013.

Born June 9, 1928 in Philadelphia, Pa., he was the son of James J. and Emma L. (Miller) Waygood Sr.

He received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Lafayette College in Easton, Pa. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, having served in the Korean War.

Jim was an electrical engineer for 28 years, retiring in 1983 from Cummins Engine Co., Columbus.

Survivors include his daughters, Janice W. (William) Zehner of Camarillo, Calif., Joanne W. (Tony) Cole of Greencastle, and Jennifer (Tom) Pierce of Indianapolis; a brother, Charles M. (Carole) Waygood of Pocono Pines, Pa.; four grandchildren, Jamison J. Zehner, David J. (Pamela) Zehner, Dwight A. (Tracy) Cole II and Tameka M. Cole; and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 62½ years, Jean C. (Cramton) Waygood on Aug. 10, 2011. Also his parents and two sisters, Kathryn Waygood and Mary Brower, preceded him in death.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date in Pennsylvania.
