Richard R. Earley

Richard R. Earley, 76, of Greencastle, passed away on Friday, May 17, 2013 with his family by his side.

He was born on June 2, 1936 in Greencastle to Edward H. Earley and Ruth E. Call Earley.

Richard was a graduate of Bainbridge High School, and retired from IBM Corp. with 35 years of service.

He attended Greencastle Christian Church.

Mr. Earley also was a farmer and an avid trap shooter.

Mr. Earley helped with the Putnam County 4-H shooting Club, was a member of the North American Hunting Club, IBM Gun Club and the Amateur Trap Shooters Association.

He helped coach the North Putnam High School Shooting Club, winning the state championship two years in a row, and ranking second nationally. Richard was the ATA Indiana State Trap Individual 16-yard champion.

Surviving are his wife, Joyce Sibbitt Earley, who he married on June 24, 1956; two children, Pamelia Matthews and husband Terry of East Bend, N.C., and Roderick Earley and wife Tracy of Greencastle; and four grandchildren, Krystal Morris, Ryan Morris, Kristen Earley and Megan Earley.

Private arrangements were entrusted to Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, Greencastle. Interment was at Brick Chapel Cemetery.
