Members of the Putnam County Hospital Laboratory Department recently observed Medical Laboratory Professionals Week.

Medical Laboratory Professionals Week was observed by Putnam County Hospital during the week of April 22-26.

The annual event is a celebration of the laboratory professionals and pathologists who play a vital role in every aspect of health care. Since they often work behind the scenes, few people know about the critical testing they perform every day.

Lab Week 2013 was a time to honor the 20 medical laboratory professionals at Putnam County Hospital.

"The state-of-the art services at the Putnam County Hospital Lab, along with its highly qualified staff, are a great asset to this community," Putnam County Hospital Laboratory Manager Ron King, said. "Our patients have the best lab services available in their own back yard."
