CLOVERDALE -- The Cloverdale baseball team set a new school-record by winning its 21st game on Monday, a 7-1 victory against Turkey Run.

Senior Cody Carter picked up a complete-game, four-hit win for the Clovers. He also doubled and scored a run.

CHS was again led at the plate by its seniors at the top half of the order.

Justin Wilson was 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI and Austin Mannan was 2-for-4 with a home run, double and two RBIs.

Mannan's home run was a solo shot in the sixth inning in the final at-bat he'll ever have at the Cloverdale High School field.

Sophomore Brantson Scott also doubled. Brandon Snyder, Brayden White and Brody Pfaff each had hits.

Turkey Run (6-15) got its only run in the top of the first, then Carter settled into a rhythm. He finished with 11 strikeouts and no walks.

"That's probably the best he's pitched all season," CHS coach Brian Archer said.

The Clovers (21-6, 8-2 WCC) will continue their historic season when sectional play begins Wednesday. CHS faces Monrovia at Speedway High School at 5 p.m.
