Sheriff's Department

* At 7:25 a.m. on Saturday, May 18, Derrick S. Henry, 20, Kokomo, was traveling southbound on U.S. 231 near County Road 350 North in a 1999 Chevrolet. Henry told Sgt. Jon Chadd that he veered to the right to avoid an oncoming vehicle that traveled left of center into his lane. Henry then struck a guardrail on the west side of the roadway to avoid a collision.

Chadd estimated the damage at $5,001-$10,000.

* At 1:25 p.m. on Sunday, May 19, Justin Flory, 24, Gosport, was traveling north on County Road 100 East in a 2010 Dodge Charger. As Flory entered a curve on County Road 750 South he stated that he ran off of the right side shoulder into loose gravel. He then lost control of the vehicle and struck a tree.

Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $1,001-$2,5000.

County Jail

Several people have booked into the Putnam County Jail recently.

* At 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, John Daniel Collins, 39, Reelsville, was arrested for receiving stolen property.

* At 12:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Thomas Matthew Cox, 27, Beech Grove, was arrested for receiving stolen property and possession of stolen property.

* At 6:54 p.m. Leslie Vaughn, 26, Terre Haute, was arrested for driving with a suspending license.
