TERRE HAUTE -- The Greencastle baseball team lost its opening-round game of the 2013 postseason to Edgewood on Wednesday, 6-2.

The Tiger Cubs (6-13) played the Mustangs tough through the first 5 1/2 innings at West Vigo, but a four-run bottom of the sixth for Edgewood ended the GHS season.

Senior Landon Miller got the start for the Tiger Cubs and the lefty delivered. He gave up just two runs through the first five innings, struck out one and walked four.

Down 2-0, the Tiger Cubs tied up the game in the fourth. Senior Nick Gilliam hit an RBI-double to score Brandon Gierke, then Brant Mangrum got a base hit that scored Gilliam to tie the game.

The Mustangs (18-7) found their offense in the sixth, putting four runs across the plate. Miller surrendered the first three, then was replaced by junior Seth Brown.

Greencastle had a chance in the top of the seventh, but failed to score as its season came to an end.
