I-70 project will close westbound on-ramp from State Road 243

PUTNAMVILLE -- The Indiana Department of Transportation has announced the resurfacing project on Interstate 70 will close the State Road 243 on-ramp to westbound I-70 beginning Thursday, May 30 at approximately 6 a.m. until 7 p.m. that same day to mill and resurface the ramp.

This project on I-70 will resurface the interstate from three miles west of SR 243 to just over one half of one mile west of US 231. The work was awarded to Rieth-Riley Construction for $7.2 million.

The entire project is scheduled for completion by the end of July.

The work schedule is subject to change in the event of inclement weather. INDOT reminds drivers to use caution and consider worker safety when driving through a construction zone.
