Weatherford second, Lucas and Lenihan outside top ten at state finals

BLOOMINGTON -- Greencastle's Colleen Weatherford's 800-meter time at the 2013 Indiana High School Athletic Association track and field state finals on Saturday broke the existing state record.

First-place finisher Brittany Neeley broke the state record by more.

Weatherford finished here GHS career with a second-place finish in the state finals in a time of 2:08.76 and Neeley clocked in at 2:07.91.

Two other Putnam County athletes also competed in the state finals.

North Putnam senior Sam Lucas and Greencastle sophomore Jessica Lenihan both qualified for the single-class finals.

Lucas finished in 23rd place with a toss of 37-3. Lenihan was just behind her in 24th at 36-4 3/4.
