Jack L. Frank, 77, Poland, passed away on Monday, June 3, 2013.

He was born on March 3, 1936 in northern Owen County and was the son of the late Cecil G. and Margaret E. [May] Frank. Being one of six children of a farm family, he was a hard worker and enjoyed being outdoors.

He married Retha M. (Rubeck) Frank on July 5, 1959 and she survives.

He is also survived by his daughter Patti L. Malone and husband Scott of Brazil, his son Gary L. Frank of Tucson, Ariz., his sister Evelyn M. Frank of Poland, his brother James D. Frank of Poland and several nieces and nephews.

Jack was an avid wood carver, as well as a mechanic and accomplished welder. He was a former employee of Amax Coal and Rubeck Sawmill.

He was also an active member of the Spencer and Cloverdale gun clubs. Friends and family can verify he was an actual jack-of-all-trades. If he couldn't fix it, he would make a new one.

An outstanding steward of his land, his favorite time was spent riding his heated/air conditioned ATV with his wife Retha and their dogs through their beloved woods.

He will be missed by many for all of his good deeds and interesting stories of the past.

Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 6 at the Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 p.m. to the time of services at the funeral home.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 7 at the Poland Chapel Cemetery.
