John L. Pingleton

John L. Pingleton, 52, a lifelong resident of Greencastle, passed away on Monday, June 3, 2013.

John was born on Dec. 20, 1960 in Greencastle to Charles Pingleton and Ardella Abrams Pingleton.

He was a 1978 graduate of South Putnam High School, a member of Teamsters Local No. 135 and had been employed at IMI for the past eight years as a truck driver.

He was preceded in death by his father Charles Pingleton; his step- father, Ward Franklin; and a grandson, Dakota O'Shea.

Surviving are his wife of 27 years, Betsy Pingleton; his mother, Ardella Wright; his children, Dustin Rogers and significant other Amiee Zackary, Joseph Myers and wife Carrie, Stacy Boswell and significant other Bradley Carter, Tonya Butler and significant other Larry O'Shea, Derrick Rogers and wife Heidi and Andrew Rogers and significant other Danielle McHugh; two brothers, Thomas Franklin and significant other Debbie Adams and Phil Pingleton and wife Karen; three sisters, Sherry Witt and husband Joe, Rita Cummings and husband Tom and Sue Adamson and husband Earl; and 10 grandchildren.

A memorial service will celebrate John's life at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at Bittles & Hurt Funeral Home, Greencastle, with Chaplain Donnie Watson officiating. Inurnment will follow at Fillmore Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 8 from noon until the time of service at the funeral home.

John enjoyed fishing and hunting and especially enjoyed sharing this love of the outdoors with his grandchildren.
