Robert A. 'Bob' Emrick

Robert A. 'Bob' Emrick, 81, Port Charlotte, Fla., formerly of West Palm Beach and Indianapolis, passed away on June 12, 2013 at his residence.

He was born on March 11, 1932 in Indianapolis to Harold Gale and Regina Farlee Emrick.

Bob was a graduate of Arsenal Technical High School in Indianapolis. He joined the Navy after high school and served during the Korean War.

He married Edna Bernice Crawley on May 29, 1957. They were married 56 years.

Bob retired from Pratt and Whitney Aircraft, a Division of United Technologies in West Palm Beach after 25 years.

Survivors include his wife, Bernice Emrick; a brother, David Emrick, New Whiteland; a sister, Betsy (John) Brodie, Indianapolis; his children, Kathleen (Wesley) Hufford of Tampa, Fla., Karen Hirt- (Jim) Mannon of Greencastle, Kristina (Christopher) Ross of Jonesville and Michael Emrick of Port Charlotte, Fla.; six grandchildren, Kelly Barber, Ryan Barber, Alexandra Hirt, Sam Hirt, Tom Ross and Mindy Hall; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Regina Pennington; his brothers, Thomas Emrick, Charles Emrick and Harold Emrick; and his grandson, Randy Barber.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, June 21 at the Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home with Pastor Alan Small officiating. Interment with military rites will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be at Hopkins Rector Funeral Home on Friday, June 21 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
