Mill Pond looking for 5K run/walk participants

Mill Pond Community Service Representative Brooke Trissel is looking to form a team of more than 50 people to participate in the fight against cancer.

The Hendricks County Strides Against Cancer 5K walk/run will take place on Saturday, Oct. 5 at 9 a.m.

Trissel is hoping to create a team, "Putnam County Cure" that includes community members from all over Putnam County.

The kick off for the fundraising begins in August. However, the group will be meeting in mid-July to discuss the event and how they can work together.

"I believe this is an outstanding way to represent our community and our fight against cancer," said Trissel. "I am very excited about this event and hope we can get many participants."

Trissel will be providing a pre-walk breakfast before the team heads out to Hendricks County.
