John Charles Wall, 84, of Pompano Beach, Fla., formerly of Greencastle, passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2013.

He was born in Milwaukee.

He served our country as a lieutenant in the Navy. When he left the Navy he was employed by IBM for more than 26 years.

John was preceded in death by his parents, John I. and Mary Wall, and wife Anna May Wall.

He is survived by sister Mary Martin; children James (Susie) Sutherlin and Paula (Wayne) Portch; grandchildren Gunson (Sue) Wood, Rachel (Bob) Johnson, Kelly (Thomas) Wadsworth, Wendy Nottingham and Kelly Portch; and great-grandchildren Brandon Wood, Justin Wood, Jett Wadsworth, Cruz Wadsworth, Devin Johnson, Trevor Nottingham, Troy Nottingham, Victoria Nottingham, Brendan Bruno and and Jason Keene.

A service will be held in the auditorium of John Knox Village, 200 Lakeside Circle, Pompano Beach, at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, July 2 followed by a dinner in the Lakeside dining room.

There will be a military service held graveside at the Sutherlin Cemetery in Russellville on Wednesday, Aug. 14 at 1 p.m. followed by a celebration of John's life held at the American Legion in Greencastle at 3 p.m.
