John W. Cash

John W. Cash, 88, of Fillmore, passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2013.

He was born on July 4, 1924 in Putnam County to Clyde and Anna (Hammond) Cash. He married Marjorie Cox on Dec. 5, 1942.

John was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and a lifelong dairy farmer. He sat on the board of Hendricks Power for more than 25 years, much of which he served as President and Chairman of Wabash Valley Power and was a 4-H leader for many years, as well as a veteran of World War ll.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Marjorie and brothers William Cash and Robert Cash.

He is survived by four daughters, Karen and husband Jim Christy, Becky and husband Roger Bailey, Marjorie Lou and husband Randy Robinson and Peggy and husband Larry Boswell; one son, David and wife Peggy Cash all of Fillmore; 13 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Ann Lemley of Arizona; one brother Thomas Gene and wife Joan Cash of Greencastle; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will take place at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 2 at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home with Pastor Dan Cash and son-in-law Roger Bailey officiating. Interment with honors will follow at Fillmore Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until time of services on Tuesday at the funeral home.
