Sand sculpture contest at Lieber SRA

Lieber State Recreation Area will host its annual sand sculpture contest 1 to 2 p.m. July 6 at the beach with registration will beginning at noon.

Teams should consist of four people or of a family of any size. Teams must provide their own equipment. Teams may only use sand, water, rocks and other natural objects.

Judging will be based on quality, originality and the age of the group.

Prizes will be awarded to first, second and third place.

The event will be canceled if it rains.

The standard entrance fee of $5 per in-state vehicle and $7 per out-of-state vehicle will be charged.
