To the Editor:

On Thursday, Robe-Ann Park was filled with activities, family moments, good food, entertainment, temperatures in the 80s, a very brief sprinkle and a most festive, colorful fireworks display. We worked to prepare and gathered to celebrate our country's birthday and the many men and women who have, and continue to give of themselves to protect our freedoms and families.

On behalf of Friends of the Park and the citizens of the greater Greencastle community I would like to thank the many people, businesses and organizations who help to make this year's Celebrate 4 event such a success. First, to Rod Weinschenk and his park staff for all of their efforts to make the day of programming happen, seemingly, with little difficulty.

Our financial sponsors were the Banner Graphic, DePauw University, Dr. Park Firebaugh, Heartland Automotive, Joe Spiker Excavating, Teachers Credit Union, Big Bounce Fun House Rentals, Duke Energy, Hendricks Power, Putnam County Convention and Visitors' Bureau, WREB, Buzzi Unicem, Carpenter's Local No. 859, Cash Concrete, Chiyoda, Co-Alliance, Crowe Horwath, First National Bank, Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Friends of the Park Association, Greencastle Kiwanis, HBG Insurance & Bonds, Jackson Hewitt, McDonalds, Millstone Point, Old National Bank, Dr. Dale Oliver, Republic Services, Brad Tucker State Farm Insurance, Sustainable Stream & Water Solutions, Jinsie Bingham, Estep & Company, Greencastle Hometown Dental, Hayes Murphy Sharp & Brackney, Kappa Kappa Kappa, Frank and Marie LaRoche, Murray and Associates and Patricia and John Ness. We couldn't have done it without you.

Special thanks to Phyllis and Gretel Rokicki, Jan Firebaugh and the Friends of the Park, the Greencastle Civic League, People's Pathways, the Pawz organization, Coach Buis and the Greencastle High School football team, Tom Sutherlin and Bob Campbell, Boy Scout Troop 99, Adam Cohen, the DePauw University Servicio en las Americas students, the city's police, fire and public works departments, our musical entertainers, food vendors and all who came to celebrate our nation's freedom.
