Local restaurants sought for fourth annual Taste of Putnam County

Monday, July 15, 2013

The Greater Greencastle Chamber of Commerce and Dixie Chopper Business Center are again sponsoring the Taste of Putnam County this year.

The fourth annual event is scheduled for 4-8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21 at the Dixie Chopper Business Center at the Putnam County Airport off Ballard Lane in Greencastle.

The first three years have been a huge success, and organizers say they are working hard to make the event even bigger and better for 2013.

Based on past numbers, organizers expect more than 500 people to attend the 2013 event.

The best way to do that is to have more Putnam County restaurants participate and share their delicious food with the hundreds of people who will be attending.

If you own or run a restaurant in Putnam County and would like details about the event and how you can get signed up to participate in the third annual Taste of Putnam County, contact Executive Director Tammy Amor at the Greater Greencastle Chamber of Commerce, 653-4517, or e-mail her at gchamber@gogreencas-tle.com by Aug. 5.

"This is a great opportunity for Putnam County restaurants to have hundreds of Putnam County residents and visitors from surrounding counties taste your delicious and unique dishes, and make them want to keep coming back for more at your restaurant for years to come," Amor stressed.

Only Putnam County restaurants can participate in the event.

  • Attention restaurant owners: Please note that this very clearly states that this is open to ALL restaurants in PUTNAM COUNTY, not just the ones in Greencastle. Let's make this year's event live up to its name by truly making it a taste of Putnam County!

Also, is there truth to the rumor that Putnam County Family Support Services is partnering this year to celebrate their annual Chairish the Children event? If so, why isn't this publicized in the article, as well?
