Bainbridge Co-Alliance facility damaged in overnight fire

Monday, July 15, 2013

BAINBRIDGE -- An early-morning Monday fire heavily damaged a building at the Co-Alliance facility just north of Bainbridge on County Road 200 East.

A neighbor to the south heard an explosion and looked out the window to see flames coming from the building shortly after 3 a.m. He then notified Putnam County 911 dispatch, and nearby fire departments were notified at 3:15 a.m.

A total of four fire departments -- Bainbridge, Roachdale, Russellville and Clinton Township -- responded to the fire, along with personnel from PMH Ambulance, Operation Life and the Putnam County Sheriff's Department.

The fire was contained to a large shed that houses equipment.

No one was injured in the fire.

The Indiana State Fire Marshall's Office was on the scene before 9 a.m. Monday, but a cause is not yet known.

More information will be released as it becomes available.
