Back-to-school schedule announced for Cloverdale

CLOVERDALE -- Cloverdale Schools will again be providing back-to-school registration during the Putnam County Fair July 19-26.

Registration is also scheduled at the Cloverdale Middle School cafeteria on Thursday, Aug. 1 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 5-7 p.m.

Parents will be able to register through the Cloverdale Community School Corporation (CCSC0 webpage at www.cloverale.k12.in.us. All state and CCSC forms required for registration are available online.

All returning students will need their Harmony information to register. User names and passwords remain the same as last year. Schedule changes for current students may be made at registration.

Students new to Cloverdale may register and pay textbook rental fees at their individual buildings on Wednesday, July 31 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Students will need a copy of their birth certificate and immunization records. Proof of legal guardianship may be required.

New cash transfer students should meet with the building principal for admission prior to registration. If registration is not possible on this day, new cash transfer students should contact individual schools to make other arrangements.

Registration for kindergarten students will be July 31 and Aug. 1-2.

All kindergarten students must be five years old on or before Aug. 1 to be eligible to enroll and must have a birth certificate and completed immunization record on file the first day of school.

Parents need to bring their kindergartener with them to registration. The meeting will be a short session explaining the Voyager reading program, program requirements and how parents can get involved.

Textbook rental payments are due and payable at the time of registration and/or enrollment. Persons may receive textbook assistance if they qualify for free or reduced lunch based on federal free lunch guidelines. Free/reduced lunch applications will be available at registration.

Those who cannot pay their rental fees at the time of registration and do not qualify for the free/reduced lunch program can work with school officials to develop an approved payment plan. A $100 deposit is required the day of registration for any payment plan. VISA and Master Card will be accepted.

Cloverdale textbook rental prices for the 2013-14 school year are:

Kindergarten, $79; Grade 1, $92.35; Grade 2, $73.15; Grade 3, $90.10; Grade 4, $79.05; Grade 5, $92.95 (depending on electives taken); Grade 6, $102.80-$112.80 (depending on electives taken); Grade 7, $116.55-$126.55 (depending on electives taken); Grade 8, $121.80-$131 (depending on electives taken); Grades 9-12, rental and fees depend on courses taken.

The first student day in CCSC schools will be on Monday, Aug. 12, and lunch will be served.

The price for student lunch this year will be $2.45 with $1.25 for breakfast.
