No parking on Edgelea Drive for fair week

Friday, July 19, 2013

Ongoing road construction in the Edgelea subdivision has the Putnam County Commissioners prohibiting parking in the area during the Putnam County 4-H Fair.

To avoid the long lines and cost associated with parking at the fairgrounds, many fair goers often choose to park along the sides of Edgelea Drive north of the fairgrounds and Windy Hill Country Club.

However, with the roads of the subdivision being resurfaced this summer, driving in the area is already challenging.

Having cars parked on pavement recently milled or resurfaced will be damaging to the new roads.

Commissioners Don Walton and David Berry voted 2-0 to enact the restriction during their Monday meeting.

No parking signs will be placed along the sides of Edgelea Drive for the duration of the fair.

Motorists should avoid parking in these areas.
