Piano students will compete Aug. 18 at Indiana State Fair

Four piano students of Cheryl Beck of Greencastle have qualified to participate in the final competition of the 2013 Indiana State Fair Young Hoosier State Piano Competition.

Haley Huffman, Shelby Huffman, Aliesha Whitesell and Ashley Whitesell, will perform on Aug. 18 in the third-floor auditorium of the Ellison Bakery Home and Family Arts Building on the state fairgrounds.

The four students were among more than 300 Indiana students, ages 8-22, who competed in regional competitions conducted in Carmel, West Lafayette and Columbus.

Haley, Shelby, Aliesha and Ashley are competing in three categories --classical, ensemble and international music

The competition is sponsored by Piano Solutions of Carmel.
