PUTNAMVILLE -- A suspect in an area sexual assault case involving a 14-year-old Terre Haute girl surrendered to Indiana State Police officers at the Putnamville Post Wednesday afternoon.

Christopher Ivan Lucio Hayden, 19, Terre Haute, turned himself over to Putnamville authorities Wednesday as the third suspect in the Vigo County sexual assault case.

Hayden had been wanted on a Vigo County arrest warrant for child exploitation, a C felony, and possession of child pornography, a D felony.

He becomes the third teenager arrested in the case. Arrrested Tuesday were Peter Joseph Tanoos II and Tucker Lee Ray, both 18, of Terre Haute.

Tanoos and Ray turned themselves in late Tuesday afternoon at the Vigo County Jail.

Hayden had reportedly been out of town on family business when he became aware of the warrant for his arrest, subsequently turning himself in at the State Police post Wednesday afternoon.

An Indiana State Police investigation revealed that on or around June 30, a 14-year-old female became intoxicated and somewhat incapacitated at a private party near downtown Terre Haute.

Friends and acquaintances reportedly then assisted her in leaving and took the young female with them to a hotel on the south side of Terre Haute.

As she lay unconscious in the room, she was reportedly sexually assaulted by Ray and Tanoos, while pornographic images of the assault were allegedly recorded by Hayden.

Those images reportedly then surfaced multiple times around the Terre Haute community through social media.

Hayden was expected to be transferred from Putnamville to the Vigo County Jail with bond set at $50,000.

  • A 14 year old girl goes to a party where there teenage boys and gets drunk, passes out, and the boys take pictures of her--who could've seen this happening??? Now, with phones with cameras and instantly uploaded to social media, I am not surprised. This is all a very bad reflection on non-parenting skills.
