CLOVERDALE -- An early-morning Tuesday crash on Interstate 70 left one woman seriously injured.

The crash happened in the eastbound lanes shortly before 1:30 a.m. near the 39-mile marker, approximately two miles west of the Cloverdale exit.

Putnam County Sheriff's deputies indicate the woman's car left the road and crashed.

She was then airlifted to IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis with serious, but not life-threatening, injuries.

Traffic was diverted from the interstate for about 40 minutes following the crash.

Along with the sheriff's department, personnel from the Cloverdale Fire Department and Operation Life responded to the scene.
