Back to School

The first day of school is anything but routine for new Deer Meadow Primary School Principal Mike McHugh, who takes time Wednesday morning to visit the preschool classroom of Lindsey McAdams (at left above) and have a little fun with youngsters Beckham Buechler (blue shirt) and Max Simmerman (orange shirt). Meanwhile, second-grade teacher Laura Brentlinger takes her students for a quick spin around the school to reacquaint themselves with the Deer Meadow layout before settling in for the school day. While Greencastle schools were back in session Wednesday, the other three Putnam County corporations don't resume classes until Monday.
