Tiger Cubs finish eighth at golf invite at TH South
The Greencastle girls' golf team competed in the nine-team Terre Haute South Invitational on Tuesday, finishing its first 18-hold event of the season in eighth place.
Sophomore Lokysa Scheuermann led the Tiger Cubs, shooting a 98 at Rhea Park Golf Course.
"We had a hard time adjusting to the speed of the greens, but that is something that we will work hard on this week," GHS coach Bob Hedge said.
GHS finished with a team total of 436.
"Lokysa had a nice round today," Hedge said. "She kept the ball in play most of the day."
Senior Liz Johnson finished at 102, junior Lauren Bridgewater a 109 and junior Haley Cash a 125.
Freshman Alex Weliever, playing the first 18-hole round of her career, shot a 125.
The Tiger Cubs return to action on Monday when they face the North Putnam Cougars on their home course in Danville at 4:30 p.m.
