Monday, August 12, 2013

A truck pull originally scheduled for June 1 to benefit Relay for Life has been rescheduled for 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 16.

The original event, which was to also include tractors, was originally canceled by inclement weather.

However, the trucks will make their way back to the pull strip at the Putnam County Fairgrounds this week.

Trucks will weigh-in at 5 p.m. with a $30 hook fee. Classes include 6,500 pound 4x4 street stock gas, cast in and out with no hanging weights, 6,500 pound altered stock gas (no sanctioned trucks), 8,200 pound street stock diesel with no hanging weights, front stack or sanctioned trucks.

All seven classes of the Indiana Truck Pullers Association will also be included.

For any questions on the truck pull, persons may contact Britany Greene at 812-798-5953.

The grandstand fee will be $12 with kids 10 and under being free.

There will be concessions as well as an opportunity to take pictures with ITPA trucks from 5-7 p.m. at a rate of $5 per picture.

  • Well I hope the city, county, state, national guard, etc... checked with the 'THE DENTIST' to make sure this was going to be ok!!! Heaven forbid there be a fun family event take place near his tranquil pond setting that he can hear and take away from HIS relaxing day at the dirt pool. I'd hate to see another round of zoning hearings we have to attend to ATTEMPT to keep "THE DENTIST" from ruining a good time for many not just a few...... Heck there will probably be sons, daughters, moms and dads, grandparents, wives, girlfriends and boyfriends of all ages from all over the state and then some coming to have a good time in the outdoors and spend time together and money right here in GREENCASTLE, INDIANA....
