Pool party was again great fun

To the Editor:

On Aug. 2, 2013, we at Greencastle Pediatric Dentistry had our second annual pool party to celebrate the end of summer for the children of our office and their families at the Greencastle Aquatics Center.

Despite the threat of rain, very cool and autumn-like weather, approximately 125 or so family members attended to enjoy a night of fun, popcorn and beverages.

I wanted to take this moment to personally thank all of those that worked so hard to put this event together. To Mr. John Hecko and Ms. Michelle Collins of Asbury Towers who provided the more industrial-sized popcorn popper to keep ahead of the demand of children and adults looking for a quick snack for energy and warmth.

Special thanks to Ellie and her lifeguard staff. They not only kept everyone safe, but were very gracious in offering to help our staff setting up, unloading supplies and providing the necessary set-up for maximum efficiency and in keeping the facility clean before and after the event.

Thank you to my staff and family that volunteered to organize and coordinate the party. Heather, Carrie, Kim, Jennifer, Lynn, Lindsey, Nicole, Grace, Kelsey, Cindy and J.T did a wonderful job keeping everyone fed, hydrated, socializing with the crowd and spending lots of time untangling balloon strings in the windy conditions.

Finally, thank you to all the boys and girls and parents that braved the conditions to attend the party.

We thank you all for your support over the years and appreciate allowing us to care for your dental health.
