Eagles drop tight match to Southmont

BRAZIL -- The South Putnam girls' golf team had its best performance of the season on Wednesday, but it wasn't quite enough.
The Eagles were beaten out by visiting Southmont by just one stroke, 210-211.
Allacyn Arnold led SPHS with a season-best round of 48 to pace the team.
"I still feel like we're improving," SPHS coach Gloria Curtis said.
Senior Kyndra Boyce followed by shooting a 51. Clair Perry and Alicia Haywood each shot 56 and Carlee Schlatter finished at 66.
