Henry Ernest Myers

Henry Ernest Myers, 96, of Greencastle passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2013.

He was born on Jan. 8, 1917 in Owen County to Floyd Ernest Myers and Bertha Mae Lanager Myers.

Mr. Myers was a longtime member of Greencastle Presbyterian Church, Temple Lodge 47 F &AM, and was a former member of the Greencastle Lions Club.

Henry was employed for 42 years at the former J.F. Cannon's Men's Store in Greencastle. He had also been employed at Delakamp's Department Store in Rockville for eight years, and Mac's Menswear for three years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Marcella Bridges and Margaret Peigh; and his beloved wife of 72 ½ years, Rhea D. Myers.

Surviving are his children, Ronald E. Myers and wife Reyna of Goodyear, Ariz., Martha D. Sechman and husband Bob of Mooresville, Duane C. Myers of Greencastle, Diane L. Pingleton and husband Jack of Peoria, Ariz., Jon W. Myers and wife Ruth of Greencastle, and Daniel B. Myers and wife Patty of Mesa, Ariz.; 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 31 at Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home, Greencastle, with Pastor Wes Kendall officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Friday, Aug. 30 from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home, with a Masonic service at 7 p.m.
