Lowell B. Barr, 76, Calera, Ala., formerly of Indianapolis and Cloverdale, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2013 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center, Alabaster, Ala.

He was born Sept. 29, 1936 in Evansville and was the son of the late Clarence O. and Wretha (Williamson) Barr.

He was a 1954 graduate of Cloverdale High School and attended Purdue University and Harding University.

He married Delores (McKamey) Barr on Jan. 9, 1958, and she survives.

He is also survived by his children, Dennis Barr and wife Betsy, Phoenix, Ariz., Janet Robinson, Pelham, Ala., and Steve Barr and wife Celia, Talladega, Ala., and his grandchildren, Kristin Barr, Jason Barr, Andrew Robinson and wife Amanda, Bailey Robinson, Erin Barr and Abby Barr.

For 48 years he was a minister, serving more than 33 congregations of the Church of Christ, including Cloverdale, Bloomington, Bedford, Noblesville, Northeast (Indianapolis) and Tipton, Lebanon, Mt. Meridian and most recently Columbiana, Ala.

He was a member of the Riverchase Church of Christ in Birmingham, Ala.

He had also served an auditor for Indiana FSSA and had been a courier for Cardinal Health.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31 at the Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30 at the funeral home.

Interment will be in the Cloverdale Cemetery
