Hometown Dental to host free adult dental care event

Thursday, August 29, 2013

Adults in need of dental care who believe they cannot afford it are invited to Greencastle Hometown Dental on Friday, Sept. 6.

The Greencastle clinic will host a free dental care event through Dentistry from the Heart, supporting Putnam County area residents with free dental care to people on a first- come, first-served basis.

From 8 a.m. through 5 p.m., Dr. Dennis Knuth will be joined by his office staff, local volunteers and local volunteer dentists in order to provide the adult patients with a free extraction, filling or cleaning.

Patients are asked to arrive early as the event is a first-come, first-served basis. Registration will begin at 7 a.m. Friday and patients will be seen through 5 p.m. that day.

Patients are also encouraged to dress appropriately for the weather and bring water and snacks as they may be waiting outside to be seen. Patients must be 18 years or older.

Parking is limited at the dental office located at 1113 Indianapolis Rd. Parking and a shuttle will be located in the parking lot of the former Marsh store on Indianapolis Road.

This is the first time Greencastle Hometown Dental has hosted a Dentistry from the Heart event, and likely it will not be the last. Dr. Knuth's office hopes to make it an annual event as the staff sees it as a great way to give back to their home community.

This sort of outreach comes complete with improved smiles, relief from suffering, and a warm sense of gratitude. The services provided by Dentistry from the Heart not only help a patient's teeth and overall health, it gives them a renewed reason to smile.

  • Kudos and thank you's to Dr. Knuth and staff for doing this for the people of this community! Hopefully, the word will get out, and the other dentists in the area will soon follow suit!
