PCH utilizes methodology of Lean Six Sigma

Rachel Hopkins, RN, and Crista Miller, RN, represent Putnam County Hospital as the facility is recognized in the InRHA/Purdue-sponsored celebration.

As a member of the Indiana Hospital Association's Hospital (IHA) Engagement Network and member of the Indiana Rural Health Association (InRHA), Putnam County Hospital has been provided the opportunity to develop improvement strategies utilizing Lean and Six Sigma principles. 


Lean Six Sigma is a change methodology which has been proven effective in various industries and in recent years has been successfully utilized in the healthcare setting to decrease waste and variation for improved efficiency and outcomes.

Through IHA and InRHA grant funding, Putnam County Hospital associates have been able to complete certifications to aid in leading positive change.

PCH has celebrated the accomplishments of the following team members:

-- Crista Miller, RN, Lean Healthcare Yellow Belt/Lean Healthcare Black Belt candidate.

-- Katie Bennett, Lean Healthcare Yellow Belt/Lean Healthcare Black Belt candidate.

-- Ron King, Lean Healthcare Yellow Belt/Lean Healthcare Black Belt candidate.
