'So You Want to be an Archaeologist' program scheduled Sept. 4 at PCPL

Saturday, August 31, 2013

The Putnam County Public Library will welcome Phoebe Pritchett for a presentation titled "So You Want to be an Archaeologist?" on Wednesday, Sept. 4.

During the free 3:30 p.m. program, Pritchett will discuss the wonders of archaeology, share some of her finds, and show the tools of her trade (including her Indiana Jones-style fedora hat)

While the program is geared toward children and young adults, everyone is welcome to attend.

Pritchett earned her bachelor's degree in anthropology from Indiana University in 2011 and her master's in anthropology from the University of Cincinnati in 2013.

She has participated in archaeological digs and surveys in Yankeetown and Evansville, as well as in New Haven, Shawnee Lookout Park and Marie-mont Ohio.

Pritchett has also traveled to South Africa for a month to study primates and visit sites where early hominid remains have been found.
